Recording Diary (Day 1)

I’ve set up what I think will be a workable space, recording to 8-track and 1/4inch 2-track (stereo) machines simultaneously. The 1/4 inch is intended to be the master recording in each case and should require very little subsequent adjustment prior to release.

The 8-track machine will only be used if I feel the need to add something to the basic vocal and guitar recording. My aim is to go with just the guitar and vocal for each recording, but we’ll see. Apart from the knowledge that what I’ve cobbled together actually works there’s not a lot to show for today.

Aside from a couple of half-baked attempts at “Everything is Going to Change” in 3/4 and 4/4 respectively, I go to bed tonight simply having made a start.

I’ve set May 31st of next year as an off-the-top-of-my-head release date for the album, which I think will remain nameless for the time being—although I have two in mind.
